Communion
Each time my family takes communion we are reminded of the high price Christ paid for our sin. He willing took all sickness, pain, and punishment for our sin in His body at the cross. He established Salvation for all humankind when he became a living sacrifice for us. 1 Peter 2:24-25 (NIV) - He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. He took all sin and sickness in His human body then miraculously arose from the dead defeating all the forces set by Lucifer against us. Christ arose victorious. Establishing our Salvation for all eternity.
Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV) - When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross In his triumphant conquest,His word says He made of joint heir, victors with Him. My heart rejoices at my blood bought rights through Jesus Christ.
Our heavenly Father purposed to present Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for us by the cross centuries before our existence. My mind can not grasp the vastness of God’s planning for our ultimate good. Taking the communal elements exhibits a tremendous amount of reverence to God for establishing our peace and righteousness. Each time I take communion I bring to remembrance the high price Christ, willingly, paid for my freedom, for my Faith, for my relationship with the Father, and I am sobered. The gratitude I have is truly indefinable. I can not humanly begin to show how overwhelmed my heart becomes at the thought of our Savior’s victory for us.
Colossians 1:20-22 (AMP) - And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross. And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father's] presence.
As you enjoy some of these recipes, let us not forget the greatest meal of all time. I encourage you to take communion today. It is a small physical act of honor, reminding your spirit, soul, and body of the blood bought rights we have through Jesus Christ.
