Hurry Up

It would be pointless for us to spend so much time and so many resources on this project without challenging you to give your life to Christ if you have not done so, and to encourage those who are followers of Jesus to be diligent in sharing God’s love with those who don’t know Him.

Revelation 19:14 says, "The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean." This event takes place during the second coming of Christ after the "rapture" of millions of Christians, dead and alive. The armies are those of us who believe in and spend our lives following Jesus. "White" and "clean" represent our new condition based on what Christ did to remove the stain of sin.

"We have no idea when God plans to take us home during the "Rapture", but 1 Thessalonians 5 explains that we should know the "times and seasons".  We are simply commanded to watch and be ready (Matthew 24:42).  Matthew 24:36 says, "No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" knows when these events will take place.

Often we think that the cleverest trick up Satan’s sleeve is to get people thinking that he does not exist, that things like the rapture were mythological tales. But that is not necessarily true. There’s a story in Jon Courson’s Application Commentary New Testament of a meeting between Satan and three of his demons:

One demon said, "I’ve got a plan. Let’s whisper in people’s ears that there is no God."
"No," Satan said, "creation declares the reality of God.  People are too smart to deny His existence. A few idiots might be sucked in, but not the masses."
"I’ve got it," a second demon said. "We’ll say there’s no hell."
"No," said Satan. "People innately understand the need for retribution and judgment. People won’t buy that."
A third demon said, "Let me suggest how we might trick them. Instead of saying ‘No God’ or ‘No Hell,’ we’ll just say ‘No Hurry.’"
"That’s it!" Satan said gleefully.
And he commissioned his demons to go throughout the world whispering, "No hurry."

It’s so tempting to believe that time is on our side, that we have enough of it to get our lives together…after just a little more fun. It’s so easy to get distracted and not take our eternal relationship with God seriously. But if you are honest with yourself, you know that there is no way that you can get yourself together, regardless of your accomplishments or success, regardless of how much you have acquired so far in your life. There is still a need for redemption, for being made right before God.

If you have any questions or doubts lingering about eternity, please go to our "Do You Know Jesus" page and take this opportunity to make Jesus the Savior of your life. If you have already chosen him as your Savior, it’s time to get serious about making Him Lord of every part of your life.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of His army.
